The best view of the wildflowers was beyond a “restricted access” sign. I ventured in anyway. When the park ranger stopped by to reprimand me, I feigned naivety about the sign’s meaning and then asked if I could finish the painting. He granted my request, complemented my work, and told me to obey the signage in the future.
Katherine Crowley was born 1976 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Miami University with a BFA and works professionally in the graphic design field. Ms. Crowley is a painter, bronze sculptor, photographer, and mixed media artist whose work has been exhibited around the world and is held in many private collections. Ms. Crowley’s artwork tells a variety of stories through symbolic imagery and design. Her work ranges from personal stories to iconic images of meaningful locations she has visited. Through her work she conveys personal symbolism, drawing influence from her childhood memories, traditional symbolism, and personally significant precious objects.
