Dawes Arboretum in Newark, Ohio features swamplands, wetlands, and a Japanese garden. But on the day I was visiting, I was drawn to the quaint red barn with its white silo. It stood out so brightly in the landscape, and in such beautiful contrast to the neighboring brilliant blue pond,
that I could not resist painting it.
